Important Notice:

We are unable to meet at the Wellington Club on Wednesday 8 May.

It has been arranged that we will simply move our meeting date by 1 day and meet at the Wellington Club on Thursday 9 May instead.

The Charity Auction is on Friday 3 May, so delaying the normal meeting by 1 day in the following week is probably beneficial.

A number of different venues were approached - either they were unable to accommodate us on that date or the costs of doing so were exorbitant.

Staying with our new home and just changing the day/date for this occasion will hopefully meet with approval by our members.

  President's Message

Our guest speaker didn't turn up this week but fortunately we were able to have two of our guests give a short speech on their very interesting careers.

First from the Malaghan Institute Professor Mike Berridge:

Followed by our own Peace Scholar Sarah Agnew, and for those going to the Conference this year they will hear an address from Sarah:

There’s a lot happening in the club right now. There’s the Charity Auction on Friday 3 May, but so much more too.
  • Our meeting due for Wednesday 8 May will now be held on Thursday 9 May. This means that we will still meet at the Wellington Club. Other venues have turned out to be unavailable or too expensive.
  • Likewise, on 12 June, we will be going to Leuven, the Belgian café in Featherston Street, for an informal breakfast. Details a little nearer the time.

Mary Potter Hospice Annual Street Appeal 2019 - seeking volunteers
We are looking for volunteers who can help us collect for the Mary Potter Hospice Street Collection on the May 17th and 18th. Mary Potter Hospice is celebrating 40 years of providing Hospice services this year.
If you can help us by volunteering at this year’s street collection please send me an email (Kirthika.Prasad@marypotter.org.nz).
You can choose any location as per your convenience and for any number of hours.

Alternatively, if you wanted to put a team together and run a site for the whole day then this would be great as well. Thank you so much in advance!

Please feel free to get in touch with us if you have any queries. Warm regards, Kiki Prasad Admin Aupport Fundraising
