This Week is our CLUB CHANGEOVER!

This week we welcome David Barnes as our new President and farewell Nicole Barker thanking her for leading us in a great year.

To celebrate we ask everyone to wear something either green, white or red or all three colours to acknowledge David's Italian heritage.

We will celebrate with a delicious breakfast and drinks - something a little different to the normal fare.

Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible at this important occasion.

What a wonderful meeting it was last week to hear about the new Dorothy Spotwood Wellington Charity Hospital which should be up and running this time next year, about the same time as the new Sir Mark Dunajtschik Mental Health Centre at Hutt Hospital. Both of these facilities will provide a significant boost to the health of Wellingtonians, which we can thank this extraordinary couple for.

We will look at how we can support the Charity Hospital over the next month or two. 

Thank you Tony for sharing your experience of visiting the Masjid Al Noor Mosque when you were in Christchurch last month. It was incredibly moving, and we felt like we had been there with you and Jill.  

We had Mark Pickering testing joining our meeting via teams. It was very moving to hear the impact on Mark for being about to connect to our rotary club, when his health does not allow him to attend the meetings in person. Antz Zogg is equally pleased to connect to the club via teams in the next few weeks.

It is these small conversations that reflect how important this club is to lives of its members. Thank you for contributing to making this a great rotary club. 

This is my last bulletin as President of the Club. It has been a privilege to be in this role, and I would like to thank you all for your support and making this a memorable year.

Rotary Club of South Wairarapa - Supporting Lifting the Lid

Rotary will run sausage sizzle stalls at the Greytown Mid-Winter Festival on opening night, 27 June, and closing night, 25 July, from 3 to 8pm. If any Rotarians from your clubs are nearby, we would love them to stop by and say hello.

We will also run a cake stall with Kuranui College at the Cobblestone Victorian Christmas Market on 18 July, from 10am to 3pm, with all proceeds supporting Lifting the Lid. We hope this will raise awareness of the programme and strengthen our work with the College.

Movie Fundraiser : Contributing to Our Youth Projects   

The movie is about a woman, Molly, a dreamer and a fighter. All heart, fire and passion. She’s made more mistakes than she can count, but what drives her is to give her two kids a better life than she ever had.
