Lifting the Lid on youth mental health
LIfting the lid is our flagship charity. It's mission is to help Wellington schools source additional or complementary interventions for students who have, or are at risk of developing, mental health issues.
 

Current state
New Zealand has one of the highest rates of youth suicide and mental illness in the world and the situation is not improving.

The Lifting the Lid programme is addressing these issue by supporting the

schools with funds to hire external help. 

Currently, the programme supports ten colleges and four intermediate schools. 

As of July 2026 and since August 2022, over 1820 students have been 

supported with 2175  sessions.
